Amendoeira Golf Resort Prepare For Another Winter High Season

Amendoeira

When autumn and winter make the courses further north in Europe unpleasant or unplayable, the golf season is at its peak south at Amendoeira in Portugal.

Following its triumph as Portugal’s Best Golf Course at last year’s World Golf Awards, the Faldo Course at the Amendoeira Golf Resort (pictured above) is expecting lots of golfing guests this winter.

The Faldo Course at Amendoeira is designed by six-time Major champion, and namesake, Sir Nick Faldo. The course has become a favourite among many of the the Algarve’s international golf tourists.

Opened in 2008 the championship course has again been nominated for the prestigious price.

— It was a huge honour to receive the coveted title of Portugal’s Best Golf Course in 2016. To be nominated again in 2017 is fantastic. And a real testament to the foundations laid down by Sir Nick, Mr Christopher Howell, Chairman of Oceânico Group, said.

Joining the Faldo Course on the nominees list is Amendoeira’s Christy O’Connor Jnr Course. It also opened in 2008 and was designed by late golfing legend Christy O’Connor Jnr,. This championship course boasts various water features. And offers a layout, which demands accuracy from all golfers

Away from the golf course, the Amendoeira resort has been nominated for the accolade of Portugal’s Best Golf Hotel in the World Golf Awards as well.

The resort is set within an area of natural beauty, just 25 minutes from Faro Airport in the Algarve region. It presents a leisure and accommodation offer which includes luxurious on-site villas and apartments with outdoor swimming pools. Also on site is the Amendoeira Sports Club, Par 3 Academy Course and a renowned clubhouse with a premium service.
