“Safe” Golf Continues at Regional Level in Costa Cálida

 A golf tournament covering the Spanish region of Murcia is now in full swing, highlighting the safety of the sport and the golf courses in the area. The golfing hotspot known as the Costa Cálida, or warm coast, is currently hosting the I Circuito De Golf Región De Murcia, which began in August and runs for three months until October.

Taking place at a number of great venues across the region, the tournament is open to all players, male and female, with an official handicap from the Royal Golf Federation of Spain (RFEG), from scratch golfers to category three with a handicap of 36.4.
 
The iconic La Manga Club ,as well as El Valle (pictured above), Hacienda del Álamo, New Sierra Golf, Roda Golf Resort, La Torre, Golf La Serena, Saurines De La Torre and Lorca Golf are among the esteemed courses which will host various stages, with the circuit concluding at Golf Atorreal on October 24.

A trip to The Open 2021 at Royal St George’s is up for grabs for the winner, while other prizes include a one-year sponsorship of golf gloves, Ping golf bags, a year’s supply of PRO V1 golf balls from Titleist, a year-long sponsorship of Adidas clothing, an invitation to play the final of the Olagolf Masters, and green fees for each of the golf clubs on the circuit.
 

Murcia is renowned as a golfers’ haven with 22 great golf courses, all within 35km of one another, beautiful scenery and an average temperature of 19 degrees. This making it a perfect destination for tourists looking to escape to the sunshine for an autumn golf break.

A spokesperson for the Instituto de Turismo de la Región de Murcia, said: “The fact that this event has gone ahead underpins the hard work that all the golf clubs and local authorities have put in to make it easy for people to play golf safely. 

The promoters of the I Circuito De Golf Región De Murcia assure that the participating golfers can feel confident that the correct measures are in place to prevent and control the spread of Covid-19.
