Cabot has outlined the next phase of its Revelstoke project in British Columbia, with limited preview play at Rod Whitman’s 18-hole course anticipated for autumn 2026 and a 155-room mountain lodge due in early 2027.
High above the Columbia River valley, Cabot Revelstoke is beginning to define what mountain golf may look like in this corner of British Columbia. The developer has announced that its newly renamed 18-hole public course, designed by Alberta-born architect Rod Whitman of Whitman, Axland & Cutten, is expected to offer limited preview play in autumn 2026.
The course is being built on a bench of land near the base of Revelstoke Mountain Resort, with the routing planned around cliffs, creeks and existing landforms. Cabot says generous fairways, large greens and assertive bunkering will give the layout a scale suited to its high valley setting, overlooking the Columbia River and the surrounding mountain ranges.
For travelling golfers, the interest lies less in a conventional resort round than in the promise of a course shaped by a notably vertical landscape. The project and its surrounding built environment have been certified through Audubon International’s Platinum Signature Sanctuary programme, according to Cabot.
A phased opening
The announcement describes the autumn 2026 access as limited preview play. Cabot’s golf page separately lists the 18-hole course as set to open in 2027, suggesting the preview will precede a fuller opening programme. Golf | Cabot RevelstokeLoading your Cabot experience.
Cabot also plans to build The Railyard, a par-three short course named for Revelstoke’s railway heritage. Construction is scheduled to begin this year, with a clubhouse conceived as a social centre offering dining, bowling, virtual golf and shuffleboard. A lodge at the centre of the resort
Construction is already under way on Cabot Revelstoke Mountain Lodge, a 155-room hotel scheduled to open in early 2027. Plans include a steakhouse and bar, spa and wellness facilities, a fitness centre, retail and check-in for both golf and heli-skiing. An event space is intended to accommodate up to 400 guests.
Residential development is progressing alongside the golf and hotel elements. Chalet 1 comprises nine four- and five-bedroom, single-level residences designed by Hart Howerton, with interiors by Studio K; four-bedroom homes start at CAD $7.6 million, according to Cabot.

Tom Gaglardi, CEO of Northland, said the additions represented “an exciting new chapter” for Revelstoke and would broaden the reasons for visitors to return throughout the year.
