The brand of ”Hotels auf dem Golfplatz“ (hotels on the golf course) has welcomeed a new member in Italy: Chervo Golf Hotel Spa & Resort San Vigilio in Pozzolengo. The resort is located in one of the most beautiful regions in Northern Italy, only a short drive away from Lake Garda and the airports of Brescia and Verona.
The golf course is designed by German golf course architect, Kurt Rossknecht, and opened in 2008 . It is rated among the best in Italy.
The golf course offers three championship 9-holers: The Benaco, Solferino and San Martino. The nines can be combined into any desired 18-hole round. In addition there is a 9-hole Par 3 Executive Course.
Venue of the 2020 Italian Open
In October 2020 the Italian Open, a tournament on the European Tour, took place on the championship courses of Benaco and Solferino.
The extensive clubhouse was already voted as ”Best Clubhouse in Italy” in 2010. A spacious driving range with 63 bays (13 covered) as well putting and pitching areas are available as well.
In 2014, 2018, 2019 and 2020 the resort also won the title of ”Best Golf Hotel in Italy”, awarded by World Golf Awards.
Besides golf the resort offers an array of activities such as tennis, basketball, biking, soccer, only to name a few. There is a large spa and wellness center of 1000 square meters with sauna, fitness center and a beauty farm. An indoor pool with whirlpool plus an outdoor pool are also available.
This 4-star-hotel directly next to the clubhouse offers 89 comfortable rooms, and and is close to the abbey of San Vigilio, dating back to the 12th century. Allso, there are 42 apartments for rent.
