New images showing Assoufid Golf Club, Marrakech, reveal the remarkable prospect that awaits international golfers looking to experience Morocco’s newest 18-hole golf course.
Situated close to the vibrant ‘Red City’ of Marrakech, Assoufid Golf Club was recently recognised as ‘Africa’s Best New Golf Course 2014′ at the World Golf Awards and also received a ‘Certificate of Excellence 2014’ from TripAdvisor, the global travel website.

Guy Maxwell, Golf Director at Assoufid Golf Club, commented: “The latest images, captured by UK-based golf course photographer, Steve Carr, perfectly illustrate why Assoufid Golf Club is quickly establishing itself as a must-play golf course in Morocco.
“With a backdrop of North Africa’s snow-capped Atlas Mountains, our golf course gives visitors a truly unique and memorable experience. Since opening last October, visitor feedback has been nothing short of phenomenal.”
Steve Carr, a former Deputy Editor of Golf World Magazine, and a current member of the panel that ranks the Top 100 Courses in the World for New York based Golf Magazine, added: “The gently undulating landscape of Assoufid makes the course very unique to the Marrakech area and helps create memorable, dramatic views from many holes.

“I was particularly taken with the par 3, 17th hole – you tee it up from an elevated position overlooking the course and have to hit a very precise shot across a dry riverbed to a well-protected green. I also found the 4th to be the most photogenic, as it plays straight at the tallest Atlas peaks.”
Featuring a desert-style 6,440-metre (7,042-yard), par-72 golf course, complete with a luxury golf clubhouse and international-standard dining, Assoufid Golf Club is a debut design for Scottish PGA professional and former European Tour player, Niall Cameron.
It forms part of an exquisite 222-hectare development, to include a hospitality component and residences, and offers golfers an excitingly diverse challenge across a rolling desert landscape featuring cacti, palm and olive trees.
For golfers considering a trip to Assoufid, Marrakech is within a three-hour flight time of most European capital cities and was recently announced as the ‘2015 Golf Destination of the Year’ for Africa & Gulf States by IAGTO, the International Association of Golf Tour Operators.
