As July’s major championship on the Old Course proved, with its rain delays and water-filled bunkers, the elements can derail a golf game, even in the middle of summer.
With this reality in mind and in anticipation of the winter season’s even wetter weather, Nike Golf releases the Nike Lunar Bandon 3.
“The main goal with the Lunar Bandon 3 was to create a versatile and comfortable shoe that could adapt to all conditions,” affirms James Arizumi, Nike Golf’s Design Director of Footwear in a press release.
Lunar Bandon 3 places a weatherproof upper atop six spikes on the outsole for traction for support on slippery surfaces. A seam-sealed shroud is designed to lock out moisture, whereas a premium weatherproof toe cap, made of engineered synthetic leather provides an extra layer of drag protection. Once unzipped, a hidden camo pattern is unveiled on the inside of the shroud.
Lunar Bandon 3 golf shoe also features full-length lightweight Lunarlon for cushioning and a comfortable padded lining on the interior to support the ankle. For traction and contact with the ground, the Lunar Bandon 3 utilizes the outsole from the Nike Lunar Command golf shoe. Six spikes provide the traction needed in slippery conditions while a forefoot TPU plate provides stability during the swing.
